the messy middle: week 4
values revisits, potential paths, and facing reality as a mom building a business
The messy middle series is me documenting my next life redesign weekly, so others can join the adventure. To witness. To inspire. To co-create. Full transparency. No bullsh*t.
This past week has been trying.
That’s why I’m sending this on Monday instead of Sunday.
Kabir has been flourishing—one development milestone after another.
And while that should put me at ease, it has also pushed me into exhaustion.
Waking 6 to 8 times a night. Fight nappings, followed by micro naps. Squealing to himself at 4am. Taking long walks in the park in hopes he’ll nap longer (though I did manage to snap some cool pics). Having to hold him to get him to fall asleep.

Yeah, exhaustion.
If you’re a parent, I feel you. If you’re not, I envy your sleep. lol.
And I’m writing this after having had some caffeine (now I get why parents rely on caffeine). Normally, I opt for decaf, but I’ve needed a little help lately.
As I like to put it, I drink it strategically now. 😂

I’ve also realized that what I want to accomplish while caregiving full-time isn’t realistic. Maybe I wrote this last week?
Well, if I did, I’m revisiting the theme.
I’m used to high levels of output, but it’s not just feasible right now. So, I need to adjust my expectations for myself as well as my timeline.
Because one thing I know for sure—while my calling is this work—my time with Kabir at this age is fleeting. I’m not willing to miss out on it.
Oh yeah, and I FORGOT!
Tickets are booked for trips this fall/winter.
Pennsylvania for a friend’s wedding.
Barcelona to see our friends.
India to see our family.
I’ve been vying for travel and to be back in Barna 🫶🏽 Couldn’t be more excited.
personal reflections on potential paths
This past week has been a lot of reflection between walks and sleep time.
I’ve noticed a spike in resistance towards SF being our long-term.
So rather than fight it, I’m giving myself the space to lean fully into the resistance and mapping what it would look like to move back to Spain in three years.
I haven’t made much progress yet, but I’ll share it when it has form.
What I do know is that I need to:
Revisit my values for this next redesign.
Give myself space to map out my 3 potential paths (this is my body-first adapted version of Odyssey Planning).
Notice how the body responds when we go back to Barcelona later this year.
this week’s progress
🔁 Start to migrate my paid membership resources to one place (for real). — I started this and still have 75% to go.
✅ Write the Soul deep dive article.
✅ Remember to take photos 🙃
❌ Set up scheduling and follow up with the 14 women who are in. — This week, I realized I need a set schedule to make this happen. After Chinmay gets back from Poland, we’ll find times he can take care of the baby so I can be present for these conversations.
this week’s commitments
I’m solo parenting this week while Chinmay is in Poland (lucky!) for work, so I’m keeping it simple. No new things besides the next article.
Write the Social deep dive article.
Stretch goal: Migrate my paid membership resources to one place.
Blocked: Set up scheduling and follow up with the 16 women who are in.
Well, that’s all for this week! Thanks for being with me on this journey 🫶🏽
Ciao, ciao for now!
